Nick Vayenas – trombone

Nick Vayenas is a New York City-based trombonist, composer, educator and recording artist known for his expressive sound, versatility and command of jazz and commercial music. Originally from Boston, he began studying music at age 10 and earned scholarships to Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute, where he developed as a musician and composer.

Since 2003, Vayenas has toured internationally as lead trombonist with Michael Bublé and performed on several of his recordings, including Crazy Love, Nobody But Me and the Grammy Award-winning Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden. He also performs on Broadway and is active in New York City’s jazz scene with ensembles such as the Terraza Big Band, Dan Pugach Big Band and Birdland Big Band.

A Conn/Selmer Artist, Vayenas has released nine albums and teaches at The New School and United Nations International School.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Live performances will take place at Wolfson Campus Auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Miami, FL 33132. Building 1, Room 1261. Performances will be livestreamed, except for the student ensembles.
