Fire Fighter Certification

The Fire Fighter Minimum Standards Program is a 492-hour course. The program meets the requirements as set forth by the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST) for certification as a paid, professional firefighter. The program consists of a Fire Academy class in which students will obtain a certification as a Florida State Certified Firefighter with the ability to work anywhere in the state of Florida. The program is a physically and mentally challenging course that includes extensive classroom and practical field components. Schedule - Full Time

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Duration: 3 Months

Schedule - Part Time

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Saturday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Duration: 5.5 Months

Note: Only the Firefighter/EMT-Combined Program qualifies for federal financial aid.
